Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?

You need a ChatGPT account that includes Codex. OpenAI lists Codex on the Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Edu and Enterprise plans, so most accounts qualify, but a bigger plan gives you more headroom for large runs.

Does this use my ChatGPT usage?

Yes, and we would rather say so plainly. Runs that go through your attached account draw on that account the same way your own Codex usage does. Runs that use a model from another provider stay on our keys and inside the normal plan limits.

What happens when the year ends?

The project moves to the free plan unless you have picked a paid one by then. You keep your projects, scenarios and findings. We show a notice a month before the year ends so nothing changes without warning.

Can I attach an account later?

Yes. Qodex asks right after setup, and the same option sits in Settings under the model tab. Attaching later starts the year from that day.

What attaching means

Qodex needs a model to read your code, write scenarios and judge a test run. Normally that runs on our account and we bill you for the platform. Attaching flips it: the OpenAI half of that work runs on the ChatGPT account you already pay for, so we do not have to charge you for it. That is the whole trade, and it is why the year is free rather than discounted.
